Shad  Mixing

Greetings. I'm Alexander Shad, an audio engineer specializing in mixing; ranging from pop all the way through to jazz. I started mixing in 2021 when I started making my own music. At the time, mixing was not a conscious action for me, but rather just a part of the recording process that I had to deal with. It was only after I listened to Steely Dan's "Gaucho" record I became infatuated with the technical aspects of music production such as recording, mixing, and mastering. Since then, I have dedicated time and thought into my mixing practice and staying true to my method — keeping things simple. I have also dabbled in live mixing in a resturaunt setting but quickly discovered that the studio was my natural habitat. You will not see me layering many effects (if any at all) on channels (that includes compression and EQ). My goal is to deliver an acoustically coherent and natural sounding result as opposed to modern absolute perfectionism, and hopefully some day, people will search for my name on the back of records when looking to test their HIFI systems.
